Page Load Time Is Essential

Have you ever wondered what's most annoying when you want to shop online, book a movie ticket or a railway ticket? Yesterday was the last day to e-file the returns and the job took me about a couple of hours to finish. Reason : Page took forever to load and reload.

Does that sound familiar?

When I thought about it for a moment, I questioned myself if it was important to even think about it? I mean in this digital world, when we are always connected, does it really matter if a website is running slow or takes time to load itself?

The answer is Yes! It is a critical element when developing a website, with an objective of creating demand. The reasons are many-

  • No one wants to wait!
  • In this competitive world, if your web page doesn't open your's competitors would!
  • According to Industry Benchmarks, a user spends less than 10 seconds on a webpage, these 10 seconds are the deciding factor for the conversions of your web page.

What slows the page to load?

  • Excessive scripts on the page
  • Heavy Images not optimized for web
  • Large images in the back end designs
  • Poor coding
What you can do about it? Here are the top 2 takeaways-

Minify! - Remove any additional Java script on the page. Additional java script that offers adding additional content & code, white spacing increases the load time.

Compress all the heavy images. Optimize the images to fit in the design content.

Happy Conversions!
